Our Corporate Social Responsibility

Dune London Supports End Youth Homelessness

Here at Dune London, we don't just stand for fashionable shoes and accessories. And as we continue to grow into a global success story, we recognise that as a large corporation we have a social responsibility to provide support to individuals and communities who need it.
That's why our charity work is very important to us and over the past 20 odd years we've supported a number of different charitable causes. We don't only enlist help from our loyal customers, but also our fabulous store staff and hard-working HQ teams, in a series of fun-filled activities and charity collections throughout the year, raising awareness of several important causes in the process.
This year, we're supporting End Youth Homelessness - an alliance of charities and businesses committed to helping the 80,000 young people in the United Kingdom who experience homelessness each year. The charity's aim is to get young people off the streets and into employment, helping them to rebuild their lives and grow into healthy, happy individuals. From 2015, all proceeds from the sales of our 5p plastic bags will also go to End Youth Homelessness.

End Youth Homelessness also campaign to change local and national policy so that local authorities and schools can advise, educate and support those most at risk of homelessness, as well as provide affordable accommodation in local areas for those who need it. They also encourage businesses (that's us!) to offer apprenticeships, training schemes and work experience placements as well as mentorships for young homeless people to gain sustainable employment.
As a brand very much geared around the younger generation, we understand the potential that so many young people possess but which so often goes unfulfilled. Hence why Dune London are keen to get involved with such a pioneering charity to nurture the future generations and contribute to a happier, more inclusive society. We'll be doing this by holding various fund raising activities throughout the year including in-store collections, charity bake-offs, sponsored activities and much more. Keep an eye out for collection points at a Dune London store near you.
End Youth Homelessness is an offshoot of the charity Centre Point, an organisation which works in London and the North East of England to provide shelter for homeless young people aged 16-25. They also provide counselling services to address the mental health issues which often afflict homeless young people, together with employment advice and programmes. A group of young people who have been helped by Centre Point are also elected each year to speak to members of the government about the challenges they face. The charity also runs education programmes to send young homeless people into schools to help raise awareness and erase the stigma surrounding homelessness.
