We’re committed to bettering our practices for the good of the planet. From our first sustainable shoe to packaging and waste, discover the ways in which we’re reducing our environmental impact.
We love what we do here at Dune London and with more than 25 years of designing footwear and accessories we know a thing or two about what goes into making a quality product. We also love the world we live in, which is why we are working hard to improve our responsibility to both, creating products and initiatives that will foster positive change.
For Spring/Summer 2020, we are introducing the ECO trainer: a sustainable shoe with style.
So, what makes a shoe sustainable? We're glad you asked. Our ECO trainer is made from a mix of recycled and responsibly sourced materials, from the lining (64% recycled cotton and polyester) to the laces (75% recycled cotton and 25% recyclable polyester fibre). The leather used in the trainer has been made using a chrome and metal-free process in a tannery that is certified gold by the Leather Working Group.
Introducing these sustainable materials is important, yes, but we also want to fulfil the design-led approach you've come to know and love from our products. Thanks to a clean, minimal aesthetic, the ECO trainer is that most versatile of shoe; it easily pairs with denim and a leather jacket at the weekend and works a charm with a more considered tailored look as modelled by Gillian Anderson in our Spring/Summer 2020 campaign (above). In essence, the ECO trainer is one you'll look good, feel good and do good wearing.
That's Not All
We recognise that there is much to be done, but the ECO trainer is just one of the few initiatives we have introduced to improve our duty of care to the environment.
