How exciting is it that the sun's finally out? We're pretty psyched ourselves. It's also the perfect time to update your shoe wardrobe in preparation for the summer holiday season. And a chic pair of mules is a great place to start. Our popular KEERA wooden wedge mules were recently featured in a round up by Marie Claire, which we predict will be flying out of stores over the next few weeks - an easy way to add a modern 70s vibe to your outfit.

Other mules we've got our eye on include our KRISHA python print high-wedge espadrilles (below left) as well as these hot pink KIMONO leather cross strap sandals (below right).

Here are a few more things getting us in the summer holiday spirit ...

The Balance Plan by Emine Ali Rushton

(Instagram: @thebalanceplan)

If you're a fan of healthy eating to feel good, not just lose weight, then we recommend The Balance Plan which hit the shelves last week. Written by Emine Ali Rushton, the book is about the ancient practise of Ayurveda and shows you how to follow an eating plan and recipes to eat according to your body type and in accordance with the seasons. Their Instagram page is full of inspirational foodie snaps, such as this low-carb breakfast of poached eggs, sweet onion and Swiss chard. Definitely worth a read in the lead up to summer.

Robert Glasper Experiment - Black Radio - If there's one album to get you in the mood for hot lazy days, it's this beautiful album by American jazz pianist/hip hop producer Robert Glasper (which won best R&B album at the Grammy Awards in 2013). Featuring the the soulful vocals of Erykah Badu, as well as Lupe Fiasco, we suggest you get Spotify-ing, sharpish ...

La Roche-Posay Anthelios Tinted BB Comfort Cream 50ml

In the glare of the sun's harsh aging, burning and cancer-causing rays, spending your pennies on hard-working suncare is a must. Swap your regular foundation for this broad-spectrum BB, which covers and protects in one and contains a new powerful antioxidant baicalin. Better still, it doesn't feel heavy or leave any chalky or greasy residue. With a whopping SPF50 so even the palest among us can catch a few rays in relative safety (remember to reapply every 2 hours if you're outside in the heat).

The Miniaturist by Jessie Burton

A book that definitely lives up to the hype that's been surrounding it over the past few months. The action is set in 17th Century Amsterdam and centres around the miniature house bought for the young naive protagonist Petronella, as a gift from her mysterious new husband... If you're looking for a great beach read, this is a far more entertaining and more interesting alternative to your normal 'airport trash' novels.

Dune Black LINZI Espadrille Mules

Comfortable enough for beside the pool, smart enough for wearing out in the evening, these chic espadrilles in either snakeprint or rose gold are a hoilday suitcase essential.
