it makes suede tough and looking dark

Thank you for your review.
We have been in touch with our shoe care supplier who have confirmed, as this protector is water based, this can flatten the nap on more delicate suede leathers. If the nap is flattened, this can darken lighter colours and leave a rougher texture. Normally, brushing the suede with a suede brush can restore the nap, it's colour and provide a softer feel. In a few cases, a gentle clean followed by using a suede brush will restore the nap, and therefore the colour and feel.
