Meet the Board – The who’s who at Dune London HQ

 

Daniel Rubin
Founder and Executive Chairman

Daniel Rubin qualified as a Chartered Accountant. He founded the fashion footwear and accessory brand Dune London in 1992. With over three decades of experience in footwear; from shoe manufacturer to wholesaler and then retailer, he is a notable figurehead of the retail industry. Daniel most recently won The Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2014 Drapers Footwear & Accessories Awards.

 

John Egan
Chief Executive Officer

John joined The Dune Group in 2008 with the acquisition of the Shoe Studio Group (where he was COO for eight years). John began his career at Bally, where he worked for 15 years, and since joining Dune has brought invaluable footwear expertise and leadership qualities with him.



 

James Cox
Chief Operating Officer 

James is currently the COO and CFO at the Dune Group where he has worked for six years. Prior to this, he was Group Finance Director at Thomas Pink; a British heritage brand known as an authority on shirting and ladies and men's tailoring.



 

Debra Bloom
Ladies Buying Director

Debra possesses a detailed knowledge of the Dune London product, sector and market. She plans and selects the range, type and quantity of ladies shoes and accessories according to customer demand. Debra has previously worked at the Arcadia Group and Select Retail.



 

Rob Silsbury
Marketing and Ecommerce Director

With over 20 years’ experience in Marketing and Ecommerce across multiple sectors, Rob leads our focus on strengthening our brands, acquiring and retaining customers and digital excellence across all channels.  Prior to joining The Dune Group, Rob spent 6 years in the luxury sector with Tiffany & Co. and most recently Ralph Lauren, where we was responsible for all aspects of the EMEA Digital and Ecommerce business and taking a lead role in the global digital transformation process. Rob joined the board in April 2017.

Justin Burzynski
Men's and Supply Director

Justin started his career with the British Shoe Corporation in 1988, at its peak supplying 25% of the UK footwear market. Justin then became a Buying Manager across Men's and Ladies product with the Shoe Studio Group, finally becoming a Director. He joined the Dune Group in the takeover in 2009. He has extensive experience in Merchandising, Logistics and Quality Control.


 

Nilesh Karia
Merchandising Director

Nilesh has 20 years' experience in merchandising. He started his career at Top Shop and went on to work for Debenhams, Faith Footwear, River Island and then Dune London. Nilesh played an integral role in the growth of Faith footwear in early 2000's leading to its very successful buyout, and has been with The Dune Group for 10 years and appointed as director in 2012.

 

Zoe Owen
Retail Sales Director

Zoe worked for various retailers before she joined The Dune Group in 1999. Throughout the decades she's had various field roles and in 2011 became Head of Retail. Only a year later Zoe was appointed to the board as Retail Sales Director for Dune London.




 

Christopher Tanner
Non-Executive Director

Chris is an independent business consultant. He brings an external perspective to the Board drawing on his varied experience in strategy, business management, human resources and corporate affairs.




 

Alice Arnold
Finance Director

Alice joined the board in 2016 after 6 years with the Dune Group. She is a Cambridge University educated, big-four trained, Accountant and is passionate about the financial aspects of company strategy. Alice continued her career in the retail sector; first in electricals at Dixons before entering the glamorous world of fashion footwear and accessories at Dune London.
